Q: Do you offer Full-time Employment, 40 hours per week?

A: No we do not. Please do not apply if you are looking for Full-time employment. Most of our employees do between 3-5 assignments per day, and average 15 hours a week. There is opportunity for additional assignments, including overnight stays, but those are on an as needed basis and not guaranteed.

Q: If I have a Full time job should I apply?

A: This is not the type of job that you will be able to do if you already have a full-time job as the majority of our assignments are done during the hours of 10am-3pm, Monday through Friday.

Q: How far will I be driving?

A: You will select the areas you accept assignments in. We work with you to build you a full route within a 15 mile radius of your home.

Q: How much will I be using my smart phone?

A: You will need a phone for calls, text messages, and to use the scheduling app. You are required to have your phone at all times when servicing a client. You will use the app to check in, check out, take photos and provide visit summaries to both the client and our office staff.

Q: Do you accept aggressive pets?

A: No, we do not. And all clients and pets are pre-screened for your safety.

Q: Who tells me what time I must be at the home for the pet visits?

A: Clients set an arrival window that is provided to you when you are asked if you would like the assignment.

Q: Are you always busy?

A: You will always have a set weekly recurring schedule, that can be as busy as you set it up to be. You can add additional assignments to that as much or as little as you see fit for your schedule and income needs. Our peak periods are during spring break, summer months and the winter holidays.

Q: How am I offered assignments?

A: The office will text you with all assignment opportunities, and distinguish if they will be a set recurring assignment or a one time assignment, along with the location and time frames for the visits. You can accept or decline any of these offers, however if you do accept; you are obligated and expected to complete the assignment.

Q: How many assignments can I take on?

A: You will have the flexibility to take on as many assignments as you would like. We prefer employees that want at least 3-5 visits a day for their set Monday - Friday schedule, and you can add as many supplement visits to that as you wish.

Q: Can I have someone accompany me on any of my Dog Walks, Pet Sits, or Overnights?

A: No. Only you are insured and approved by the client to enter their home and care for their pets. Adults, children and other pets ARE NOT permitted to enter homes or participate in walks due to safety and liability issues. We never know how a pet will react to a child or another adult they do not know.

Q: Will I be an employee or an independent contractor?

A: All Doodlebug staff are hired as employees. As such Doodlebug Dog Walker carries workers compensation insurance and pays employer payroll taxes, as well as unemployment insurance.

Q: How does the pay work?

A: You are paid per completed assignment, and the pay varies based on the length of the visit.
